"We need to turn this situation around and help young people understand how they connect with our community and the power they have to make positive change. Who better to provide our Rangitahi (youth) with some guidance and inspiration than kiwi sporting icons? it's important that inspirational messages come from inspirational people" |

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your great gesture in supplying such a large quantity of fine clothing to the 20 families at risk, being monitored by the Youth Project Team at Mangere Police Station. These 20 families came to the attention of Mangere Police through the unruly behaviour of one or more of the youths in each of these families. It is hoped that by being able to provide all members of these families, ie those that came to Police attention as well as their siblings, with such great gifts at this time of the year, their self esteem will be lifted, and they will be encouraged to make the right decisions in the future, and not to let them or their families down. Once again, thank you very much for this great gesture and support. I hope you and your family have a great Christmas..." |
